Most clients think of staging as an expense. Think of it as an investment in your property. A beautifully staged property is going to be more appealing to all buyers.
Take, for example, a customer, Jonathan, who was prepared to spend up to $25,000 in remodeling to spruce up a home that had been on the Calgary market at least 3 months. I convinced him that he didn't need to do all the renovations they were planning on doing. What he needed to do was bring some life in to the home by staging it. Using my own unique style I brought in furnishings, art, accessories and arranged them in such a way that created a new look and feel for the property.
It sold to the first buyers that viewed the property after the staging project was completed. Considering the mortgage on his vacant house and the money they would have spent on costly renovations, my services paid for themselves several times over. The homeowner was also floored that it sold so quickly considering he was very skeptical about the staging process.
